About

Art goes way back in my family. I am a great granddaughter of Henri Moser, a Famous Utah artist.

I went to Weber State University and started studying Art but then changed and got my Bacholor's degree in Social Work with a minor in Sociology.I worked several years for the State of Utah in various fields, from mental health, to foster care, to child protection to working with people with disabilities.

In 1997 I met my husband and we were married and we now have three great kids.  Now that all my children are in school I have time to work on my true passion:  ART

I have always loved art.  It started with coloring in coloring books.  My grandfather gave me art books. My parents gave me all kinds of materials to help me.  I took classes in Junior High and High School.  I even studied in Europe.   I went to an Art School there in Germany.

I started volunteering to teach art periodically in my kids' classrooms.  I then helped a teacher develop art lessons for teachers and then started volunteering in other teacher's classrooms.  I then was approached by a parent asking if I teach art out of my home...she would pay me.   From that first request, I found out I enjoyed teaching art, so when we finished the basement, we put in an art studio and I got my business license.

Debbie's Art Academy has been in business for 10.5 years.  I absolutely love art and seeing how creative people  are.
